sponsoree Young Talent Slopestyle and sponsoree Young Talent Summer Camp by NPJ
Essen (sgh) – For most freeride contests these days you have to have a big name in order to be invited. All other freeride enthusiasts must watch from the other side of the fence. Here, the sponsoree Young Talent Slopestyle follows a different route: big names may only have a seat on the judge’s bench for this contest, which takes place between 10 and 12 August 2007 at Bike Funpark Wittenburg East of Hamburg, is dedicated to newcomers only.
sponsoree Young Talent Slopestyle
As the name already indicates, the sponsoree Young Talent Slopestyle taking place between 10 and 12 August 2007 is a contest for young blood freeriders. Pro riders or riders that already get invited to major freeride comps are not permitted. The minimum age for participation is 14 years. Participants aged younger than 18 need a declaration of consent from their parents. On Friday the newcomers have a full training day to get used to the Slopestyle course at Bike Funpark Wittenburg, Northern Germany’s first mountain bike park. On Saturday they can demonstrate their skills in front of an expert jury that comprises, apart from Niels-Peter Jensen also other adiridas. The winner will receive a sponsoring package from sponsoree.com helping to realise his dream of becoming a mountain bike pro. In addition, the top 5 of the Slopestyle Contest will get some cool sponsoree helmets and valuable prizes.
Bike Funpark Wittenburg has created a special weekend package for all participants of the sponsoree Young Talent Slopestyle. Two nights in a double room at the Snow Funpark’s 3 star hotel right next to the mountain bike arena cost 68 Euros including a sumptuous buffet breakfast, three nights are available for 102 Euros. sponsoree Young Talent Summer Camp by Niels-Peter Jensen
Last year Niels-Peter Jensen already hosted a Young Talent Summer Camp and proofed to have a nose for talent, because last year’s winner, Marius Hoppensack, is meanwhile a member of the adiridas – the international adidas Freeride Team and is currently being featured in mountain bike magazines all over Europe. This year, the sponsoree Young Talent Summer Camp takes place 5 to 12 August in Wittenburg East of Hamburg. The venue, Bike Funpark Wittenburg, contains a Slopestyle park with various levels of difficulty, a pro dirt jump line, and expert dirt jump line, a dirt jump park for beginners, a 4Cross course, Northshores, a drop area as well as a skate park with a giant foam pit.
„Companies that attend to extreme sports are often far-off the scene and don’t know who has the potential to become a star and who should be supported”, says Niels-Peter Jensen, owner of a bike brand himself, called NPJ Dirtbikes. „In most cases companies pick athletes that are well known and youngsters stay behind. With our Young Talent Summer Camp we want to give upcoming riders in the field of mountain biking the chance to draw attention to themselves and to grow their talent. We are delighted to have found a partner in sponsoree.com who pursues the same goal.”
Apart from Niels-Peter Jensen and Marius Hoppensack who holds a huge repertoire of tricks, Veikko Renner and Hendrik Tafel will be trainers at the 2007 sponsoree Young Talent Summer Camp. All trainers will respond to each participant individually. For that matter the camp is limited to 30 riders. That way, the park is not too crowded and a feeling of success is guaranteed. In addition to the daily training at Bike Funpark Wittenburg, the trainers invite the participants to a daily talk during which they describe their life as a pro rider, give tips and answer questions. All camp participants have the chance to win a great sponsor package.Participation in the one week camp costs 299 Euros per person. The fee includes accommodation in double rooms at the 3 star Snow Funpark Hotel next to the bike park, the training camp and food.
